Silver Fork Lake

Today my mom and I went up and walked around Silver Fork Lake.  It was absolutely gorgeous up there.  I must admit I usually get a little bit sad as we head into fall and the weather cools.  I just love summer so much, and I hate knowing that winter is just around the corner.  The colors up the canyon and at the lake were so beautiful though that it reminds me to give fall a second chance.

I love the fall colors and I really love that I can take little adventures with my baby before it gets too cold.  I hope that this perfect weather sticks around for awhile longer and for a lot more outings.

Obsessed

Here are Asher's newborn photos.  I absolutely love them!  I am so glad we were able to get these taken when he was still so small and had all of his hair!  Thanks to our photographer, Jada Chadwick for taking them.  I am posting lots because I just can't decide which ones are my favorites.

Lazy Day

Today has been a lazy day.  After we got up at 8 for Asher to eat, and Marcus headed off to work, me and the little guy went back to bed for a nice nap until 11 when it was time for him to eat again.  I love cuddling Asher and just watching his cute little face as he sleeps.

Every day I like to take pictures of him and then show them to Marcus when he gets home.  Kinda just to show him what Asher was up to while he was away from him I guess...

He is so dang cute and we are just having way too much fun!

Becca's Shower

Last week all of the girls met up for a fun night to celebrate Becca's upcoming wedding in two weeks.  We met downtown at the restaurant Eva for dinner.  I was nervous because one look at the menu showed me it was not "normal" food, and everyone who knows me very well knows that I am really picky and am usually a little bit scared to try new food.  Anyway, the food turned out to be really pretty good and it was fun to try something different.

After dinner we went to Jessie's darling apartment in Salt Lake for the best chocolate cake, gifts and a little game to learn more about Becca and Art.  It was so fun to be with all of the girls and to see how happy and excited Becca is.  I love these girls!

My Boys

This week I went to both a bridal shower and a baby shower.  And it got me thinking.

My bridal showers were a little over four years ago, and I was excited and wondering what my life was going to look like and how it was going to change once I was married.  I was a little nervous and unsure about what to expect, but I was so excited for the adventure.

Only a few weeks ago I was at baby showers for myself, excited and wondering the same things, what my little boy was going to look like and how my life was going to change once he got here.  It seemed like babies were all around us, but I still could not picture what life would be like once we had our own little baby.  And now he is here, and I could have never imagined how my life would have changed for the better.

And it is so weird to me how once it happens, whether it was marriage to Marcus four years ago or the arrival of little Asher six weeks ago, once it happens it is all so natural.  Like it was meant to be that way and like it has always been that way.

I love these boys of mine.

One Happy Little Guy

Asher first started smiling (on purpose) at about five weeks.  This is the first smile I've been able to catch on camera.

Visitors
Jamie came up from St. George and we got to meet her sweet baby Millie.  She is so darling! She is as girlie as can be with her cute little nails painted, her bracelet and little hair bow.  Millie is 3 weeks older than Asher and it is so fun having babies so close in age. (August 27th)

One Month Old

Asher is one month old today.

At one month:

Weight:  10 pounds 5 ounces (75 percentile)
Height:  22 inches (90 percentile)
Head:  15.2 (80 percentile)
He is a big boy!

-Asher eats about every 3 hours during the day and goes 4-5 hours at night (one time) and then 3 hours again after that.
-He is losing his hair!  He looks a little like a grandpa with his receding hairline.
-We swaddle him up to go to sleep, but he hates having his arms in and usually fights until he gets them out.
-He is such a little grunter!  He is constantly grunting, even in his sleep.
-He smiles a lot in his sleep and we just recently discovered he has dimples!
-He is really alert and loves holding his head up and looking at the ceiling.
-He has grown out of newborn size clothes and diapers.
-He doesn't do well when I eat ice cream, so he must not deal well with milk.  He gets fussy and spits up a lot, so for now no ice cream for me.  Luckily I don't really drink milk anyway, and he seems to do ok with a little bit of cheese or things here and there.
-He is such a sweet baby and we are just loving life with him in our family!

Our Little Fish

Yesterday we took Asher swimming.  The pool was warm and Asher seemed to really like it.  His swimsuit is a little big, but he didn't seem to mind.  He absolutely loved just floating around on his back and soaking in the sun.
