Gallery Walls

Lately I am loving groupings of picture frames.  I really want to do one in my house but don't know where yet.  So for now I'm just looking, and if I ever get around to it I'll let you know.

Suggestions?

A little while ago I found this amazing bird cage in the basement of Marcus's grandpa's house.  I instantly fell in love and knew that if he was ever getting rid of it I wanted it.  Marcus told his grandpa and he graciously offered to give it to me.

The painted is chipped in a few places and it is a little rusty so I am going to repaint it.  That is where I need suggestions.  Should I keep it this creme color, which I really like, or paint it a darker, charcoal color?  Either way I think it will be just perfect up on our big shelf/ledge by our stairs.

{Yurt}

 Last week we loaded up our backpacks, grabbed our snowshoes and headed up to the Yurt with 3 other couples {Dan + Shalane, Sam + Marie-Reine, Tommy + Riley}.  There was so much fresh snow and it made everything so beautiful.  We didn't start hiking in until late afternoon so we enjoyed the last few minutes of our hike by moonlight.

 After a steak dinner and warming up by the fire we were ready to gear up again and go out and play in the snow.

We all ended up having such a good time, just like always, and I am so glad Marcus took the time to make this happen!

Year in Review, Part 2

In the beginning of July we couldn't have been happier to be moving into our new house.  We were ready for a change from our basement apartment although I didn't feel ready or "adult" enough to be a homeowner.  That thought alone completely stressed me out.

In August I turned 24. We borrowed Marie's minivan and spent a quick weekend in Disneyland with a couple of friends.

Kendyle's wedding in September gave us an excuse for a quick trip to Denver.  The wedding was beautiful and Marcus planned a sweet trip for us.

October started getting cold.  We headed to St. George with my family to try to soak up the last bit of summer.  We had so much fun with Tierra, Katie, Nate, Jackson, Miles and Lola at Fiesta Fun, hiking the crack in the wall (and watching the remote control rock crawling convention), Mongolian Barbecue, Denny's, In-N-Out and staying up way later than we should have.

 In November Marcus turned 27, we celebrated Thanskgiving and we cut down our Christmas tree.

 December meant lots of time spent with family. We celebrated Scott's homecoming and we celebrated Christmas.  We Were completely spoiled by all of our generous family members.  I love Christmas and this year was the best.  I felt the stress of balancing time between our families was so much less and we were able to just enjoy the season!

We had such a good year and are excited to see what 2010 will bring!
