Lots of Clouds, Lots of Fun

We were able to spend the weekend in Flaming Gorge with all of my family this last weekend.  We drove up Wednesday morning, but as we got closer and closer to the lake all around us were big rain clouds.  It started raining, and soon it was hailing.  We had to wait out the storm in our car  before we could unload our camping gear and have Tierra pick us up and take us across the lake to where we were camping.

Sadly, this was how a lot of our trip was.  It was colder than usual and rained most of the afternoons.  We are used to a little rain storm now and then at Flaming Gorge, (proof is in the picture below of us taking our tents down in the rain last year...) but this year was especially cold and rainy.

Despite the weather we were still able to have a great time with everyone, eat giant S'mores while huddling around the campfire, swim with Katie's cute kids, get really excited for the few minutes when the sun was out and we would actually feel warm and do a lot of water skiing and wakeboarding.  Everyone was able to be there, except for Elise, who gets home from her mission next month!

The trip ended the same way it started--pulling the boat out, in the rain.  Even though it was rainy and cold, it was a great trip and I am already looking forward to next year.

*And sadly my camera sat safely in my tent all of the trip, so all I have are these pictures of the VERY beginning and VERY end.

So fun! I saw your fam unloading everything the other night. I CANNOT believe Elise is coming home already. I know I haven't been keeping track, but that just went by way TOO fast.

What a weird trip with all the rain...but definitely still fun. Mom got lots of pictures so we should get them from her. And you didnt mention crazy dog suicide and rescuing efforts...:)

Sounds like a fun (and cold) weekend. You're a better sport than I am. Camping in the rain is one of my least favorite things! :)

Very exciting about your sister. I bet you can't wait.

Thanks for your comment. Looks like despite the rain in was still a blast!
