1400 lights
85 ornaments
too many tripped breakers and blown fuses
3 trips to walmart
countless popcorn kernals
and
17 billion hours
LATER
Our tree is finally ready.
And as much work as it was, it was totally worth it. Although this year I really started to understand why my dad was such a "scrooge" every year when it came to the tree. It can sure be a pain!
And do you know what my favorite part is? Besides it being 14 feet tall, and my new tree skirt, I absolutely love the popcorn.

I can see it from my window! It looks great :) I'll have to come over and see it in person...
Holy cow I love it, Shawn loves it too! It is is so big and beautiful.. I can definitely see how that would have taken a long time and I don't think I would ever have enough patience to string all that popcorn! You go girl.
cute! so is the tree! I love the popcorn! we did that our first year being married.. took FOREVER.. and we didn't even have that big of a tree compared to you. But i love how it looks

I LOVE it! It is so pretty! And so big! I bet the smell is heaven too. I love the popcorn. I bet that (along with everything else) took forever! You are some patient people :) Makes for good memories though.
And look, another cute jacket! :)
LOVE! It's seriously so, so pretty! HUGE - maybe hauling that bad boy through the waist deep snow was worth it! Your popcorn strings are so cute!
Hey Chels! I cannot BULieve your tree! I LOVE it! Having a giant tree is so what Christmas is all about. ;)
wow! I love it! You are such an inspiration. You gotta love our house's and the tall cellings for Christmas trees.
Chels! What a gorgeous tree, and it fits perfectly in that room. I feel like I can almost smell it from here. I might be a little covetous of it, and now I want to start chopping and hauling real trees for Christmas! Will you teach me? And we are looking for good ornaments, where did you find yours?
Your tree is beautiful! I'm so glad you got it finished...well worth it! I can't believe how big it is, you have much more patience than I would have had. Love the popcorn!
oh man that this was so heavy...I can't imagine how you got it in the stand. But it looks amazing--I need to come see it at night. And good job on the popcorn. I had no idea it would look that cute.
Holy HUGE! I love it!
14 feet tall? Holy cow! Good thing you guys have that forever high ceiling. It looks great!
I LOVE your tree! Especially the fact that you cut it down yourselves. It's beautiful! I've always wanted to make a popcorn chain and never have. . .
