{And the reason} for our trip to Seattle. (June 24 - July 1)
Last fall Marcus and I decided to sign up to run the Seattle Rock-N-Roll half marathon. We convinced all of my sisters to sign up as well and decided to make a family trip of it. A few weeks later I ended up getting pregnant, so I knew I wasn't going to be running this race, but luckily everyone else still was and it made for the perfect excuse to take a week long vacation to explore Seattle.
Everyone was nervous and excited the night before the race and Seattle was CRAZY with thousands and thousands of people getting ready for this big event. It was a weird feeling for me to not be running with everyone but I got up Saturday morning to cheer the runners on with Nate and his kids. We camped out at mile 12, but with 26,000 runners I somehow missed seeing Marcus, Mike (Elise's fiance was able to take my place in the race) and Tierra and only got to cheer for Katie and Elise.
Everyone did such a good job and you could just tell how thrilled they were to be finished. I was proud to be there cheering these five on!
Marcus did awesome and said he loved the race, loved running at sea level and that the course was beautiful. I know he would love to do it again someday, so maybe that time I will get to experience it.

It's amazing how much you girls all look alike!
I cannot for the life of me figure out why I am standing SO AWKWARDLY...jazz hands and all. Hah. Fun day though. Thanks for being there to cheer.
How fun! So I was really confused for a second because I thought one of your sisters was you, but I knew it couldn't be because she wasn't pregnant and you said you didn't run the race. Then I was thinking it was an old picture from before you were pregnant. Then I realized that it must be your sister that looks exactly like you. Ha ha. Anyway, glad you guys had a fun trip! That would be a fun race.
Did Marcus even train for the race???
Way to go, Marcus. Everyone looks so happy in that picture that it almost makes me want to try a half marathon someday. Almost. :)
Why do we all look so happy?? It really isn't a pleasant experience. I'm LOVING Tierra's Jazz hands. . . so, so funny!
