9 Months Old

Asher is nine months old!

At nine months:

Weight: 19 pounds (25 percentile)
Height: 27.5 inches (40 percentile)
Head: 17.6 inches (50 percentile)

-Asher is crawling all over the place.  He is quick and always tries to crawl into the tiniest places.  He beelines it for the stairs and always wants to crawl back behind the toilet (sick!)

-He loves to raise his arms above his head, and does it when we say "Who's so big?"

-He is spitting up way less now, but still drools like a little monster.

-He usually takes 4 bottles a day, but some days he will go the longest time without taking one.  He just doesn't really ever act like he needs it and sometimes will only drink a few ounces.  If we are out somewhere and he is distracted, he will go all day refusing to take a bottle.  It worries me sometimes but I have to try to just relax about it!

-He sometimes likes baby food but other times doesn't have much interest.  He loves real food and always wants to feed himself.  He loves puffs, mum mums, black beans, bread, tomatoes and strawberries.

-He still loves water and drinking out of a straw.

-He no longer sleeps swaddled but loves his swaddle blankets.  I wrap it around him but every time he pulls a little corner up to hold near his face while he sucks his thumb.  It is the cutest thing. 

-He pulls up on everything now and loves to stand.

-He is always trying to get away.  He tries to dive our of our arms, off of chairs, and thinks it is so funny to try to go down the stairs head first.

-He is just starting to figure more and more things out, like how to unzip things, how to unplug the tub, open my wallet, etc.

-Everything goes into his mouth.  And then he seals his little lips and shakes his head and makes it so hard for me to get it out!

-Sometimes he gets really intense and will grab our faces and just squeeze them while he shakes, almost like he is gritting his teeth.  I like to think that is his crazy way of giving us loves.

-He loves to look at your face and really analyze it, then he'll reach up and touch your eyes, nose, mouth.

-He has lots of fuzzy, super blonde hair but mostly in the back.  From about the ears forward he still is mostly bald!

-So far he doesn't really seem to mind to have other people hold him or tend him.
-He babbles all day long.

-He still loves attention and is always looking around to see if people are watching him.  He laughs and laughs once you look at him.
